Guided by the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care, the Office for Early Childhood Development is the steward of the early childhood development system in South Australia.
The Office is tasked with a significant responsibility: bringing together a holistic, connected system for early childhood development across South Australia, with the goal of reducing the rate of children entering school developmental vulnerable. Critical to this is the roll-out of universal 3-year-old preschool from 2026, giving every child access to 2 years of teacher-led, play-based early learning before school.
About this role:
Are you an organised and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? The Office for Early Childhood Development (OECD) is seeking a highly motivated Executive Support Officer to join our dynamic team and provide top-tier support to our Executive Leadership Team and the Office of the Chief Executive.
In this role, you will:
- Diary and Appointment Management : Coordinate appointments and meetings for Executives, ensuring seamless organisation of schedules, travel arrangements, meeting papers, and relevant information.
- Executive Support : Provide administrative support to Executives, including managing correspondence, document tracking, and managing urgent workload priorities.
- Minute-Taking and Action Items : Provide minute-taking during meetings and ensure actions are followed up in a timely manner.
- Coordination of HR and Financial Activities: Process invoices, review leave returns and assist with recruitment tasks as necessary.
- Effective Communication : Serve as the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective and timely communication.
- Project Support: Assist with business improvement initiatives and minor projects, including research, stakeholder engagement, and implementation of project outcomes.
- Workplace Safety : Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by reporting incidents and following Work Health and Safety procedures.
About you:
We are seeking someone with:
- Proven ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with a range of stakeholders, and to maintain strong working relationships.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong experience in using government-mandated software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Objective, SharePoint, and BASWARE.

Special Conditions:

- A current Working with Children Check and Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse, and Neglect – Education and Care training are required.

Additional Note:
This is a full-time 2-year long term contract role (1.0 FTE)
Remuneration:
ASO4-$76,561 -$80,256 (1.0 FTE) per annum, plus superannuation.

Special Conditions:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every 5 years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every 3 years.
