About your opportunity
We are seeking a Media and Communications Manager – SEDI to join the Prevention Division. Reporting to the Head of Media and Communications – Prevention your role is to:
- Lead and manage a dynamic communications team to deliver impactful media and PR campaigns for key health programs like cancer screening and immunisation.
- Develop and execute tailored communication strategies for priority communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTIQA+, and culturally diverse populations.
- Drive collaborative, cross-functional initiatives, ensuring seamless coordination of media and communication efforts across the SEDI program and with external stakeholders.
- Provide strategic guidance, media relations expertise, and project management to strengthen the effectiveness of public health communications and raise awareness.
All about you
We are looking for someone with:
- Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, or related field, with extensive experience in planning and executing integrated media and communication strategies.
- Proven experience delivering health campaigns tailored to priority communities such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTIQA+, and culturally diverse groups.
- Strong media relations skills with expertise in managing media interviews and maximising coverage, along with well-developed social media proficiency.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences and build strategic relationships.

- Base salary of $99,648 to $116,882 p.a. (dependant on experience, pro rata for part time) plus 11.5% superannuation
