As a Sleep Clinical Nurse, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients with sleep disorders, contributing to their overall well-being and quality of life.
About the role:
The Sleep Clinical Nurse works collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to provide clinical care within the Sleep Health Service. Provides ongoing care coordination to patients receiving SALHN funded home ventilation therapy across in the inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The Sleep Clinical Nurse is responsible for the provision of equipment and education to patients who meet qualifying criteria for SALHN funded home ventilation therapy. The role also involves supporting equipment maintenance and management.
Accountable to the Sleep Nurse Practitioner/Candidate for their professional practice and must act within their own scope of practice and legal frameworks.
Provide nursing services in a variety of health service settings which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study with staff at this level developing from competent to proficient practitioners.
Accepts accountability for their own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff.
The Clinical Nurse role at this level continues to be predominantly clinical in nature; however employees are assigned appropriate portfolios. The allocation of portfolio responsibilities is negotiated with each employee and consistent with the career development plan for the employee as determined by their performance review/development plan.
About you:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Effective communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
