The Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) contributes to safe and responsible liquor and gambling environments that minimise harm, build community confidence and support industry development. As a modern regulator, OLGR regulates with courage and integrity in an uncertain and complex environment. As the Senior Executive Support Officer, you are responsible for providing high quality support and assistance to the Office of the Executive Director, Licensing and Harm Minimisation Programs and for coordinating and preparing responses to executive correspondence.The successful applicant will have experience in the provision of high-level specialist support and coordination . Your previous experience in co-ordinating and assisting in key functions of a busy executive office will be highly valued as you work collaboratively with the areas of OLGR to support the office.
Responsibilities
The Licensing Division is responsible for liquor and gaming licensing in Queensland. Specifically, the Licensing Division regulates the liquor and gaming industries by:
- assessing liquor, wine and adult entertainment licences and permits
- licensing persons, organisations and premises involved in gaming activities
- assessing the suitability of liquor and gaming participants; and
- evaluating gaming products, rules and equipment.
- Provide confidential, executive support to the Executive Director and Directors within the Licensing and Gambling Harm Programs Division.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of Licensing Division's key inputs to OLGR and departmental annual management, planning and reporting cycle including briefing notes, reports or requests requiring whole-of-division and cross-agency responses.
- Prepare and coordinate content for executive and ministerial briefs, correspondence and reporting which is complete, accurate and meets the standards of clarity and brevity.
- Ensure all correspondence is of a high standard consistent with procedures, set style guides and, writing protocols.
- Monitor a high-volume mailbox and correspondence tracking system and ensure requests are correctly allocated and actioned in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships and communication channels with internal and external stakeholders and provide advice as required.
- Undertake and assist with specific small projects working and assist in implementing governance improvement initiatives for the Division.
