About the Department for Correctional Services
The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. Duties
The Claims Officer is accountable to the Team Leader, Injury Management and is responsible for ensuring that injured worker’s income support and leave entitlements are calculated correctly and paid in accordance with the Return to Work Act, 2014. The Claims Officer is responsible for the data entry of claims, payment of accounts and providing general administrative support to the Injury Management Team.
Additionally, this position has responsibility for managing a small portfolio of low risk (medical expenses only) worker’s compensation claims and providing a range of administrative services to support the Injury Management Team.
Special Conditions
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
- The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check.
- A current South Australian Driver’s Licence is essential.
- A flexible approach to working hours is required.
- Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.
