You will perform complex and diverse scientific and technical tasks and engage in independent decision making and judgement on a day to day basis with minimal clinical practise supervision in the analysis of patient specimens.
What you'll do
- Apply independent scientific judgement in the analysis of patient specimens leading to the verification and validation of test results and the provision of advice to the clinical unit where appropriate as clinical experience increases.
- Undertake simple to complex diagnostic testing and related duties following Pathology Queensland established accredited protocols and standards within a single or multidisciplinary team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards with minimal supervision.
- Participate in the resolution of analytical and technical problems and contribute to discussions regarding methodological and instrumental problem-solving with senior scientific staff.
- Provide input in the development of scientific practices, procedures and protocols within the Chemical pathology work area.
- Actively participate in the Chemical Pathology team on a 24/7 and on call roster.
About you
We are searching for someone with:
- Knowledge of Chemical Pathology testing and its role in clinical medicine.
- Knowledge, skills and expertise in the validation and clinical interpretation of results in Chemical Pathology.
- Knowledge, skills and expertise in analytical methods and instruments relevant to Chemical Pathology.
- Knowledge of Pathology testing and its diagnostic, therapeutic and monitoring role in disease and health.
