About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Social Worker to join the CALHN Integrated Care Refugee Health Service, where you will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds. You will work within a holistic model of care that acknowledges the impacts of trauma, forced migration, and the challenges of resettlement, aiming to promote psycho-social wellbeing as a foundation for successful integration into the community. Your role will involve providing high-quality assessment, counselling, consultation, and liaison services to address the complex needs of clients.
As a key member of the team, you will use your expertise in social work and mental health to deliver client-centred interventions and advocate for equitable access to care and support. Working collaboratively with other health professionals and community partners, you will help patients and their families achieve positive outcomes by connecting them with essential organisational and community-based resources. You will also contribute to service development through education, quality improvement initiatives, and program planning activities within the Refugee Health Service.
About You
You are an experienced and compassionate Social Worker with a strong commitment to supporting individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. You bring a trauma-informed, client-centred approach to your work and have the skills to deliver high-quality, holistic care in complex health settings.

Hold a recognised social work qualification with eligibility for professional membership, and extensive social work practice experience.

Skilled in psychosocial assessment, trauma-informed interventions, counselling, and care coordination across diverse client groups.

Proven ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams and to provide professional guidance to staff and students.

Strong understanding of social determinants of health, cultural diversity, and the impacts of trauma, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
