Job Description

About the role

SYD is looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join our high-performing Finance team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of Sydney Airport’s multi-billion-dollar capital pipeline over the next 5 to 10 years.

In this role, you will provide expert financial analysis, modelling, and insights to assess major strategic initiatives across aviation, operations, and technology. You’ll own and maintain key investment evaluation models, helping to drive commercial returns, efficiency, and innovation while ensuring long-term capacity for growth. Your expertise in business valuation principles, regulatory building block models and airport pricing principles will be crucial in supporting aeronautical business cases.

If you're a finance professional with a passion for strategic decision-making and large-scale infrastructure projects, we’d love to hear from you. Join us in shaping the future of Sydney Airport!

In this role, you will

  • Assist business units in developing and reviewing business cases, evaluating financial impacts, conducting scenario analysis, and optimizing investment solutions. You'll play a key role in preparing materials for executive decision-making forums, including the Investment Committee and Board.
  • Build strong relationships across the business, responding to queries, negotiating where needed, and ensuring stakeholder needs are understood when assessing strategic projects.
  • Contribute to high-quality financial evaluations and presentations that influence key investment decisions, capital projects, and major developments.
  • Provide financial input and strategic support for SYD’s 30-year Long Term Development Plan and corporate planning for aeronautical infrastructure.

About You

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, corporate finance, or treasury
  • Strong understanding of valuation and investment evaluation concepts (e.g., DCF, WACC)
  • Proven ability to develop and assess financial business strategies
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract meaningful insights from data
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience partnering with senior stakeholders and presenting complex information
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (DCF, NPV, IRR modelling), PowerPoint, and Word
