Job Description
About the role
As a Senior Financial Analyst in Property for Sydney Airport, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our thriving commercial business by providing expert financial insights and decision support.
Reporting to the FP&A Manager, Commercial, you will be a key finance business partner, responsible for month-end reporting, forecasting and budgeting, capex planning, business casing, debtor tracking, and project work related to our Property business. Your work will directly influence commercial strategy and operational efficiency, making a tangible impact on the airport’s success.

You will have the opportunity to
- Act as a trusted finance business partner, providing FP&A support to the Head of Property, Stakeholder & Transformation and the Property team.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and KPI analysis to provide valuable financial insights.
- Deliver analytical support to help management understand business dynamics, trends, and key performance drivers.
- Lead the Corporate Plan process, preparing a detailed 5-year outlook, long-term forecasts, and projections for revenue, costs, and capital expenditure.
- Assess risks and opportunities (R&Os) for revenue and capital expenditure, supporting strategic decision-making.
- Provide ad hoc financial support, including capital expenditure forecasts, pricing changes, regulatory reporting, external reporting, and debt raising.
- Support the Property business in preparing business cases, financial analysis, contract renewals, tender evaluations, and sales performance insights.
- Assist with data analytics, trend analysis, and dashboard reporting to enhance business decision-making.
- A degree in finance, accounting, or economics, with CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification.
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A and month-end reporting, ideally within a large corporate environment (real estate, property, or development experience is a plus).
- Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into meaningful insights that drive strategic outcomes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, including senior management.
- A collaborative and pragmatic mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and delivering commercial impact.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with experience in ERP systems (Oracle or equivalent) and data visualisation tools (PowerBI desirable).
