We are a leading organisation offering a comprehensive suite of services to clients and the community across the Barwon and Wimmera Regions. We provide specialist sexual assault and family violence programs and services, including 24 hour crisis care support, case management, therapeutic counselling, early intervention and professional education and training, we continue to grow and develop our offerings.

About The Role

The Family Violence Refuge Support Worker provides onsite support to women and children who are experiencing or have experienced family violence and are in need of refuge and crisis accommodation. Working as part of a dynamic team, the Refuge Support Worker will be responsible to deliver services for women and children who are experiencing family violence and living in refuge; outside of standard business hours. This role is critical in ensuring the delivery of individualised and tailored practical supports for women, young people and children living in refuge and crisis accommodation. A strong understanding of the gendered and complex nature of family violence and evidence based risk factors is required to continuously asses a client’s risk and safety, while also addressing other support needs identified with the client. The role consists of rostered hours of work, including sleepover, weekdays, weekends and public holidays.

We are looking for somebody who can commit to the following part-time hours:

Tuesdays and Thursdays - 5.30pm to 9.30pm (Total 32 hours - 16 hrs on duty - 16 hours sleepover rate)

About You

With degree qualifications, or working towards: Bachelor of Social Work or other equivalent qualification.

The successful candidate will be required to maintain a current Working With Children’s check and National Police Check at their own expense.
