Description:
Lead, develop and manage a service area that provides accommodation support and respite services for people with an intellectual disability and their families.The nature of the service delivery in Accommodation Support & Respite Services (AS&RS), requires close collaborative relationships with non-government organisations and other government agencies within the community.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
The Manager key responsibilities are:
- Developing, implementing and monitoring continuous improvement systems for the provision of quality services that comply with legislative standards.
- Contributing to the development of new initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacity of services to respond to the needs of people with an intellectual disability and their families.
- Providing leadership and support to staff through the implementation of positive management practices and policies.
- Adhering to all legislation relevant to the public sector, the department and people with a disability.
- Nurtures internal and external relationships by building and sustaining positive relationships with staff, stakeholders and professional networks.
- Proactively engages in negotiations for a mutually beneficial outcome. You provide constructive and regular feedback to staff and when required you deal with underperformance of individual staff promptly.
- You demonstrate your consultation and negotiation skills with stakeholders, staff and colleagues.
- You present information in a clear, concise and articulate manner both verbally and written.
- Recognising and contributing to the AS&RS Governance Structure, supporting quality outcomes for clients through the delivery of quality services and continuous improvement.
- The position holds human resource and financial delegations.
