About the role:
Welcome to Norths Collective... Our dining offering is modern, fresh and fun, with an emphasis on delicious contemporary food and cocktails. We offer both smaller share plates and substantial main dishes that are wholesome, fresh and innovative. We are known for our premier venues delivering food on a level that consistently surpasses the expectations of all those who dine with us.
We are looking for that exceptional someone who will have a passion in delivering high quality food to our diners and who will be able to work in a fast-paced and team-orientated work environment. You will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting a variety of high quality dishes, contributing new ideas to the menu, ensuring that stock rotation is efficiently managed, maintaining clean and orderly work spaces, and monitoring portion and quality control.
Joining means you are part of Norths Collective which includes Norths Cammeray, The Greens North Sydney, The Alcott Lane Cove, The Verandah Beecroft, Seagulls Tweed Heads and The Bowlo Bangalow.
Your Key Priorities will be to:
- Overseeing the preparation, cooking and presentation of food
- Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef where required
- Financial performance by maintaining proper portion and stock control to keep food costs down
- Maintaining clean and orderly workspaces
- Hygiene and food safety of the highest level in accordance with food safety guidelines and Club policies and procedures
- Actively driving and supporting a range of Work, Health and Safety Compliance activities
- Directing and supporting those in your team
- Training of junior kitchen team members demonstrated through policies and procedures and all training courses offered by Norths Collective
- Maintain effective communication with all key stakeholders
The Candidate:
- Experience in working under pressure in a fast paced and high volume kitchen
- Understanding strict health and hygiene standards and Workplace Health & Safety legislation
- Experience in food quality control
- Current NSW Basic Food Handlers certificate
- Experience using digital platforms for ordering and record keeping
- Chef Trade qualifications
- Be a multi-functional chef with an interest in expanding your cooking career
- Capability to work a rotating roster that includes days, nights, weekends and public holidays
- Passionate about producing great tasting, quality food
