Lead Web Developer
- Salary: $109,730 - $132,764 (Plus Superannuation)
- Ongoing role, full time (flexibility may be available)

The Role
The Lead Web Developer reports to the Online Services Manager and leads the delivery and improvement of production services for the Intranet, Corporate site and other public-facing websites and web applications across the department.
As part of a multidisciplinary team that embraces iterative, agile software delivery and regular release cadence, your expertise and experience working in digital projects and engaging diverse stakeholders across large, complex organisations will be valued.
The position takes a leadership role in the development of websites and intranets hosted and supported by the Online Services Team within the Strategic Platforms Unit and engages collaboratively with team members, stakeholders and DJSIR clients to assist in the delivery of digital products on the department's Digital Experience Platform (DXP).
Key accountabilities include:
- Work with internal business areas and website owners to understand, workshop, and refine their requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria for their new and existing online services.
- Provide mentoring, coaching and direction to other developers in the team. Work to build engagement and motivation within the team and foster a positive work culture.
- Provide technical support to departmental staff and vendors on web related services/software by helping, advising, explaining and resolving support queries/tasks.
The Team
The position of Lead Web Developer forms a part of the Information Technology and Workplace Services branch within the Corporate Services group.
The group works to build a safe, high-performing organisation where the department's people are supported to perform at their best. The group does this by providing strategic, operational and program delivery support services in creative and innovative ways.
Information Technology & Workplace Services (IT&WS) oversees the delivery of ICT-related investments and services to DJSIR. IS engages with the organisation to ensure ICT systems and services are appropriately designed, governed, and delivered.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrated and extensive experience in website development.
- An excellent understanding of the Web Development Life Cycle and Agile development method using Scrum and Kanban process frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in Agile Business Analysis.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
