About the role
Ambulance Victoria is currently seeking a suitably experienced Human Resource (HR) Leader in the position of Director, People Services.
Reporting to the Executive Director, People and Culture, this key leadership position will deliver a high level of strategic leadership and direction enabling AV to develop and implement impactful HR, Injury and Claims Management and Industrial strategies.
With an ability to lead operational excellence, customer service and continuous improvement enabling a best practice, collaborative, agile and inclusive People Services function, this position will be critical to:
- Overseeing the delivery of high quality, timely, compliant and effective service delivery across HR, injury and claims management and workplace relations as well as other critical functions as required
- Provision of strategic leadership across the department, including setting the vision, strategy, planning and commission of future projects and overseeing day to day management responsibilities
- Translating and adapting HR best practice to deliver value to the organisation, continuously reviewing the departments' structure and recommending improvement to enhance efficiency and service experience
- Provision of specialist advice and counsel to Senior Executives, Managers and key stakeholders on processes, initiatives, and legislative requirements to enable effective people management, and the management of organisational risks and issues
- Providing open and effective leadership to build a high performance, collaborative culture the fosters high performance, efficiency, continuous improvement and development
- Leading and contributing to a safe, lawful, and respectful workplace culture through the modelling of ethical behaviours consistent with AV values (CARE)
About you
Suited to a highly motivated and strategic senior leader, the successful applicant will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications or industry specialised certifications with extensive, relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of extensive training and experience
- Proven experience and success in building and leading high-performing HR teams and delivery of HR and/or Industrial strategies in complex organisations at a senior level
- Proven ability to translate organisational strategies into action and deliver projects, plans and outputs which support strategic priorities
- Previous experience in managing HR systems and developing plans to maintain system currency in changing environments
- Experience in driving and implementing strategic cultural, organisational, and transformational change and a commitment to build a responsive, future focused and contemporary culture at a senior level
- A high level of communication with an ability to build and maintain relationships and influence, negotiate, and generate buy-in with a range of stakeholders across all levels, both internal and external
- A coaching, mentoring and leadership approach to motivate, encourage, and support teams across the employee lifecycle
