We currently have an opportunity for a Community Development Officer (Youth) to join our team.

As a Community Development Officer (Youth) You Will

  • Provide support to SENTRAL Youth Services and community development programs
  • Identify and assess recreational, vocational, educational, health and social needs of young people in the Kiama Local Government area, and to develop and deliver programs that address these needs
  • Develop and foster relationships with a range of community stakeholders including local schools and youth service providers.

What We Offer...

  • Casual role offering flexibility Hourly rate of pay from $53.12 to $58.57 inclusive of 25% casual loading (salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience)
  • 11.5 % superannuation

What You'll Need To Be Successful In The Role...

  • A minimum Certificate IV qualification in Youth Work, Community Services/Welfare or another relevant field
  • Experience working as a youth worker or working in a related community/educational discipline
  • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with young people and individuals from variety of backgrounds
  • Knowledge of youth culture, youth services sector and issues impacting young people and the wider community
  • The ability to research matters impacting young people, identify needs, and provide up to date and appropriate support and referral options
  • The ability to respond calmly and safely in challenging situations
  • The ability and willingness to work at short notice, after hours and/ or weekend
  • A minimum Class C Driver’s Licence.
