About the Role
Make a real difference to student life at The Gordon!
Are you inspired by the opportunity to lead initiatives that will drive student-centred programs, services and events that enhance campus life and ensure our students feel connected, supported and empowered?
As our new Manager - Student Life , you will be leading a talented team at The Gordon across a range of areas including The Gordon Library and Bookshop, Student Residence, Student Communications and Projects, and The Gordon’s Alumni and Scholarship program. You will be instrumental in developing the ‘Student Voice’ and supporting our student experience to further enrich campus life.
Some key areas of responsibility include, but not limited to:
- Provide leadership, direction, coaching, mentoring, and support staff to drive a high performing culture. Encourage innovation and flexibility within the Student Success portfolio.
- Responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of the Student Life portfolio.
- Provide direction to explore the full potential of The Gordon’s alumni network and harness the benefits of this network to provide opportunities for students.
- Develop a Student Life Plan in collaboration with students and colleagues across the organisation to drive initiatives to enhance the student experience at The Gordon.
- Enhance the ‘student voice’ and improve engagement and participation in co-curricular activities and leadership opportunities. Let’s listen and act on our students’ feedback.
- Lead The Gordon’s Library to provide a holistic learning space for students to learn and drive its ongoing development in continuing to meet students’ needs.
About You
Are you a strategic thinker ready for your next opportunity to make a difference? Do you have a passion for enhancing the student experience and leading high performing teams? Some key skills and experience we are after include:
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to effectively liaise, consult and negotiate with influence.
- Demonstrated success in managing operational budgets and Government (or similar) contracts.
- Passion and experience to drive change to improve and build services for students.
- Proven leadership experience, including an ability to create and maintain positive, inclusive and collaborative workplace culture, and enable high performing teams.
- Ability to analyse data, identify insights, and make data-driven decisions to improve outcomes.
- Experience leading transformation programs and sharing best practices to enhance our delivery.
