About the role:
The Senior Communications Adviser leads the delivery of communications, campaigns and services to assist the Department for Education and state government to meet goals and objectives.
The position develops and delivers strategic communications plans, content and materials for a range of internal and external channels, working collaboratively with Communications Leads, subject matter experts, executives and specialist channel leads in media, social media, online and creative services.
The position works within a broader team that provides communications, media and online services for the department and its schools, preschools and services across South Australia. Within this context, the position needs to demonstrate a high level of collaboration, responsiveness, flexibility, resilience and customer-focused service that responds to a diverse audience and constantly changing priorities.
Working within a fast-paced and politically sensitive environment, the position needs to be adaptable and able to work across multiple projects, priorities and business areas autonomously, effectively and with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Essential: Nil.
Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, public relations or related discipline and/or relevant experience in these areas.
Special conditions:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration:
ASO6 $98,478 - $104,165 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
