CDC
Canberra Full-day Full-time

Description:

About Us:

Established in 2007, CDC Data Centres is Australia's leading operator of sovereign, secure, world-class data centre facilities.

Headquartered in Canberra with multiple facilities in the ACT, NSW and New Zealand, CDC's diversified operations provide secure data centre configurations that support co-location, containerised and hyperscale compute environments with all campuses interconnected with high-speed carrier grade networks.

At CDC we are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity. We believe that everyone's unique experiences enable us to deliver meaningful benefits for our people, our clients and communities. Our mission is to attract, retain and grow the world's best data centre team.

Our people are responsive, innovative and trusted in supporting our customers. Together, we configure the landscape to meet the security, reliability, connectivity and sustainability needs for today and tomorrow.

About the Role:

This role is responsible for providing high-level support across a range of internal operational and construction projects at CDC Data Centres. In this role, you'll help project teams with initiation, planning, and delivery — tracking progress and reporting on outcomes.

You'll also be the main point of contact for customer requests, working closely with both technical and non-technical teams to ensure quality, compliance, and financial goals are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the establishment of time, cost, risk, and issue management plans for projects, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives
  • Manage allocated projects, providing analysis, advice, and guidance to CDC teams through initiation, planning, and delivery stages
  • Oversee key deliverables during operational implementation, including safety initiatives, structural adequacies, and contractor management
  • Develop forecasts and coordinate major plant and specialist workgroups to maximise productivity
  • Implement processes, structures, and frameworks for projects, ensuring seamless integration with other work streams and construction phases
  • Provide expert advice on program management best practices, offering tools, templates, and guidance to maintain a consistent delivery approach
  • Ensure timely and accurate program reporting to support executive decision-making and accountability
  • Review and update business process manuals to support the development and maintenance of policies, processes, and procedures.

About you:

This role plays a key part in ensuring the successful technical delivery of our data centre fit-outs. In this complex environment, you'll collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, making the ability to build strong relationships essential. You'll be instrumental in keeping all on-site contractors on track and resolving any issues that arise.

Adaptability, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of end-to-end project management — including scheduling, tracking, reporting, and managing costs and risks — are essential.

A trade qualification and on-site experience in the construction or data centre industry is advantageous, with an electrical background being ideal due to its complexity and importance in our fit-outs.

  • Demonstrated track record of delivering commercial scale electrical, communications and technology projects with complex supply chains.
  • Electrical or HVAC qualification, or extensive experience planning, managing, and commissioning projects involving electrical, power generation, fire and HVAC services
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and Microsoft project skills - experience using Aconex and PM tool suites desirable.

Essential:

  • Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance
