ASSISTANT FACILITIES MANAGER – SELF-SERVE CAR WASH SITES

Location: Canberra, ACT
Schedule: Full-time (38 hours per week), 5 days, flexible work hours with one weekend day required

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a knack for mechanics, electrical, and plumbing systems? Do you have experience leading small teams and managing maintenance tasks? We are looking for a reliable and proactive Assistant Facilities Manager to oversee two self-serve car wash sites in Canberra.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Maintenance & Repairs: Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of car wash equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Site Cleanliness & Presentation: Ensure both sites remain clean, well-maintained, and up to company standards, including general cleaning, rubbish removal, and upkeep of customer areas.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and support a small team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Supplier & Trade Coordination: Organise trades, schedule repairs, and procure necessary materials for site maintenance.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections to minimise downtime and maintain high service standards.
  • Problem Solving: Quickly assess and resolve technical issues to keep the business running efficiently.

What We’re Looking For:

✅ Experience managing small teams or as a leading hand.
✅ Ability to organise trade work and source materials.
✅ A hands-on, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn.
✅ Basic knowledge (or interest in learning) about mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems.
✅ Proficiency with hand and power tools.
✅ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
✅ A current driver’s licence and reliable transport.
✅ Work authorisation in Australia (Required).
✅ Ability to commute or relocate to Canberra, ACT, before starting.
