Court Services Queensland
Queensland's court services are a crucial and fundamental cornerstone of civil society. As the Queensland courts undergo a period of transformation and reform, this position presents an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of these changes. Across the state, Court Services Queensland (CSQ) employs over 1,000 skilled and dedicated staff, who work to deliver a range of services which support an independent judiciary and achieve quality outcomes for the community. Working closely with the judiciary will not only enhance your knowledge of the legal system but also provide a rewarding experience in contributing to the delivery of justice in Queensland.
As the Regional Director you will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of justice services through the operational leadership and management.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to Courts and Tribunals and whole-of-Government service delivery priorities to deliver quality outcomes aligned with community expectations.
- Translate strategic goals into implementable actions that ensure court operations align with Courts and Tribunals vision and deliver effective customer-focused services.
- Effectively lead and manage in line with legislative and regulatory frameworks, policies and delegated authority, ensuring adherence to ethical decision-making principles and standards.
- Analyse and solve diverse and complex problems and provide strategic and operational support to the Senior Director Court Operations and the Executive Director, Magistrates Courts Service.
- Sponsor and lead change to develop and maintain an organisational culture that actively seeks opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in support of excellence in service delivery.
- Work collaboratively to drive the development of Courts and Tribunals capability and align workforce resources and talent to deliver Courts and Tribunals priorities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the judiciary and foster collaborative networks and partnerships with external stakeholders to co-design and plan for improvements in services.
- Ensure a high standard of financial, resource, risk management and reporting systems are embedded in the region.
- Strive for personal growth and critically reflect on own performance, practice and impacts as an organisational leader.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a workforce in line with legislative and regulatory frameworks, policies and delegated authority, ensuring adherence to ethical decision-making principles and standards.
- Proven ability to analyse and solve diverse and complex problems and provide strategic and operational support.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and influence decisions through written and verbal briefings to senior leaders.
- Demonstrated experience in high level and fast paced operational environments will also be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of contemporary policies and strategies for engaging discreet communities and individuals is desirable.
- Legal experience is not essential though experience in a justice environment will be highly regarded.
