Description:

Infrastructure Services Division (ISD) is seeking to appoint an Executive Director, reporting directly to the Deputy Director-General (DDG). The role will lead the delivery of a consolidated portfolio of executive services ensuring statewide alignment and delivery consistent with strategic and business plans.

About The Role

As the Executive Director, you will contribute to effective management of a broad range of strategic agendas for the division. Creating positive connections, supporting and empowering our workforce, and having a commitment to sustainability; leveraging innovation; and working in Infrastructure Services Division to ensure we build world class educational facilities that are responsive to the growing needs of Queenslanders.

The Executive Director will contribute to Infrastructure Services Division by:

  • Being part of the executive leadership team that works to evaluate and integrate sustainable infrastructure service delivery solutions whilst exploring emerging statewide and industry initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships and appropriate communication channels, including with the Office of the Minister of Education and the Arts.
  • Leveraging the expertise of others to assist in high quality responses and resolution
  • Coordinating governance and business reporting for the Agency, including cyclical reporting, senior leadership forums and relevant government agencies and regulators.
  • Collaborating with the executive management team to effectively develop and holistically lead the Division to achieve strategic priorities.
  • Establishing and delivering strategies to optimise business processes, enhance service delivery and mitigate risk.
  • Researching, critically analysing and responding to complex and sensitive matters.


About You

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic professional with strong infrastructure services knowledge. You will use this experience and knowledge to provide expert, authoritative, and strategic advice to senior leadership and to collaborate with colleagues at all levels across the Division. Previous experience providing high quality written advice to Minister/s and senior leadership is crucial and will allow you to hit the ground running.

You will demonstrate authentic leadership skills, valuing and fostering high performing teams who are dedicated to achieving quality service delivery outcomes to support both community and government aspirations.

The Executive Director Will Also Require

  • Well-developed organisational skills, including ability to adapt to change and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience gathering information, data and advice from a range of internal and external sources, transforming into clear and concise written advice within short timeframes.
  • Critical thinking, able to analyse information from various sources (including data) to identify gaps and suggest improvements.
