Continuing | Full-Time Academic Level B | $110,127 - $130,325 pa plus 17% superannuation Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country View Position DescriptionAbout the Role
We have an exciting opportunity within the Social Work discipline at Flinders University, as the Lecturer in Social Work Practice. The successful candidate will deliver excellence in teaching and make valuable and high-quality contributions to social work research endeavours.
Some of the key position responsibilities of the Lecturer will include:
Planning and delivering ethical, high quality and innovative research (ideally with a focus on development of workforce capabilities) through activities such as quality publication, external grant acquisition, scholarship and presentation that aligns with the College’s areas of research strength. Contributing to the organisation, planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching primarily within the suite of undergraduate and/or postgraduate topics/courses in Social Work practice, through topic coordination, delivery of lectures, tutorials, laboratories, placements or other contemporary teaching strategies. Delivering inspiring and innovative teaching informed by approaches that enhance the student experience, prepare students for professional practice, and support students with academic and/or other challenges impeding their academic progress. Developing and maintaining strategic relationships and networks with a range of stakeholders including industry and professional associations and organisations. Focusing and contributing to supervision of research student programs.About You
To be successful, you will have completed a PhD or an equivalent qualification, as well as five years (FTE) of post-qualifying practice experience and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Some of the key position capabilities of the role include:
Demonstrated evidence of successful relevant and contemporary teaching experience at a tertiary level, including responsibility for topic coordination, course coordination and curriculum design. Demonstrated evidence of a strong research track record (for career stage) in a relevant area, including evidence of quality publications and attraction of external competitive grants. Demonstrated understanding of the teaching/practice and how this relates to professional standards, competencies and requirements. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to establish effective relationships with staff, students and industry.About the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work:
