Continuing | Full-time Academic Level B | $110,127 to $130,325 pa plus 17% Super Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country View Position Description

About the Role

This Teaching Specialist (Clinical/Practitioner) position will contribute to excellence in teaching and learning across the suite of topics in Social Work, with a focus on Trauma Responsive Practice. The Lecturer in Social Work will be responsible for making an independent contribution to teaching and the scholarship of teaching using innovations in teaching practices and technologies to deliver excellence in teaching.

Some of the key position responsibilities for the Lecturer in Social Work will include:

Create, coordinate and conduct inspiring teaching informed by approaches that enhance the student experience, across all levels and modes, of the College. Contribute to the planning and evaluation of topics, undertaking the role of Topic Coordinator as required. Make an independent contribution to the review, renewal, development and design of curricula and courses that are attractive to existing and new cohorts of students and that nurture creativity and critical-thinking skills. Provide support, academic counselling and professional advice to students concerning their studies, professional development and career opportunities. Make effective use of innovations and technologies in teaching practice.

About You

The successful candidate will require completion of a PhD, or equivalent qualifications and/or professional social work experience, as well as eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. Some of the other key position capabilities of the Lecturer will include, but is not limited to:

A minimum of five years (FTE) of post-qualifying practice experience. Experience of successful teaching and learning and use of innovative learning and teaching delivery and/or design, including assessment and feedback which enhance student success. Demonstrated understanding of the teaching/practice nexus and how this relates to professional standards, competencies and requirements. Evidence of professional development of teaching including peer or supervisor reviews of teaching and/or external accreditation processes. Demonstrated contribution to academic quality assurance processes, such as topic or course reviews. Experience with engagement within a relevant external professional domain and within a wider community context at local, national or international level which could include working parties, committees, professional associations and conferenced workshops.
