Job Description

We are currently seeking a Special Class TIG Welder to join our team in Pakenham, VIC. The successful candidate will have a strong background in TIG welding, with expertise in carbon steel, stainless steel, and super duplex materials.

This role involves working on high specification projects, ensuring the highest quality of work is achieved in every weld

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and super duplex materials in all positions
  • Fabricate and weld pipe spools and complex components according to technical drawings
  • Operate welding equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
  • Ensure all work meets AS3992, Lloyds, and DNV specifications
  • Pass X-ray and other NDT quality tests
  • Follow all welding safety standards and procedures
  • Work closely with project teams to meet production schedules and quality standards
  • Identify welding issues and contribute to problem-solving and solutions

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in TIG welding, with a focus on stainless steel welding
  • Ability to work with GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW welding techniques
  • Competent in reading and interpreting technical/engineering drawings
  • Strong knowledge of welding materials, techniques, and equipment
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, with a current driver’s license and own transport

Preferred Skills

  • Certification in TIG welding (preferred but not required)
  • Experience with Super Duplex materials is a bonus
  • Familiarity with welding codes and regulations
  • White Card
  • Forklift or High-Risk Work Licenses
