Description:
As a Senior Human Resources Officer, you will support the needs of a fast-paced Company at our offices in Darwin, acting as the initial contact for all human resources queries.
The Human Resources team is responsible for the lifecycle of our people from application stage to exiting the business and beyond. Based at our offices in Darwin, you will be the sole local contact for all human resources queries, as well as supporting the delivery of a first-class service to all our stakeholders.
You will work cross-functionally in human resources processes, in all steps of the employee lifecycle. You will provide support to different departments and stakeholders working together to drive business growth.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while adhering to tight deadlines.

Ability to recognise when issues need to escalate to an appropriate level and to develop action plans to resolve.

Demonstrable experience in executing employee engagement and retention initiatives.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Ability to communicate professionally, sensitively and discreetly both verbally and in writing.

Experience in supporting payroll processes desirable.

Experience in developing strategic action plans and HR projects in accordance with business needs.

Ability to manage tasks independently with accuracy and efficiency.

Previous experience of working in a fast-paced Human Resources department.

Knowledge of legal and compliance requirements regarding talent management, employee relations and working visa conditions.
Main Responsibilities:

Processing new starter documentation and completing background, reference and verification checks as required.

Designing, developing and implementing internal policies to align with corporate and local requirements.

Being the point of contact with suppliers to ensure process compliance.

Supporting HR processes throughout the employee lifecycle.

Working with key stakeholders to develop best practices that lead to operational excellence.

Managing and processing disciplinary matters in line with Company policies and local regulations.

Managing workplace relations with employees.

Facilitating continuous improvement through the sharing of best practices across functions and regions.

Ensuring that HR policies are up to date, legally compliant and communicated to all employees, in line with the Company's global guidelines.

Supporting the training of management on legal and compliance requirements related to employee management.
