An exciting opportunity has arrived to become a member of the Licensing Branch in the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation, Harm Prevention and Regulation, DJAG as an AO4 Licensing Officer.

As a Licensing Officer, you will be part of a small team to deliver licensing services for the Liquor and Gaming industries.

Your role will be in a team that provides responsive licensing services that balance public need and harm minimisation with industry development.

You Will Contribute By

  • providing support to Licensing Seniors and Managers; and
  • Assisting the team to achieve flexible, streamlined and efficient licensing services.


To successfully undertake this role, you will need to have a strong customer focus, strong ability to work under pressure and be highly motivated and focused on delivering outcomes.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Processing high-risk applications and notifications within agreed timeframes, including the assessment of site plans, requests for waivers and other submission material in accordance with the legislation administered by OLGR.
  • Preparing or assisting in the preparation of briefs, statements, reports, memoranda and other correspondence in relation to licensing applications and the licensing activities undertaken by the branch.
  • Providing advice to internal and external clients in relation to licensing processes and assisting in the supervision of A02/3 level staff within a team to meet work outcomes.
  • Participating in team meetings within the branch, where you will identify and recommend procedural and legislative changes and attending meeting with potential applicants and/or objectors and report outcomes.
