About the Client
Our client is a boutique communications and engagement consultancy who works alongside major resources, energy, water and transport clients to deliver genuine, strategic engagement that drives better project outcomes and stronger community relationships.
They are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Consultant –Engagement and Communications to play a senior role in supporting complex, high-profile infrastructure projects across Queensland. You’ll help shape engagement strategies, guide clients, and ensure the agency’s work reflects best-practice
About the role
As Senior Consultant – Engagement and Communications, you’ll lead the development and delivery of engagement strategies across major infrastructure projects. This role requires someone who’s confident navigating sensitive environments, can simplify the complex, and brings a collaborative and solutions-focused mindset to the table.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Development of engagement strategies and implementation plans that assess and mitigate social and reputational risks;
  • Preparing for and delivering best-practice face to face and online engagement across Queensland;
  • Facilitating events including workshops, focus groups, reference groups and public information sessions;
  • Preparing and delivering high-quality traditional and digital communication materials;
  • Supporting project reporting and stakeholder insights, including executive dashboards;
  • Managing complaints processes, governance, and internal systems for engagement; and
  • Training and mentoring client teams in best-practice engagement approaches and providing strategic advice to senior executives.
What we’re looking for:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or similar;
  • IAP2 certification (essential);
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in senior stakeholder or community engagement roles;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
  • A keen political awareness and ability to work in complex environments;
  • Experience with major infrastructure or energy projects highly regarded; and
  • Ability to communicate technical content in plain, accessible language.
