Overview:Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is seeking a Senior Communications Advisor for a 3-year casual contract with a State Government agency, based in Buderim. In this role, you'll lead strategic communications for a major transport infrastructure project—developing communication plans, managing media and stakeholder engagement, and ensuring strong community relationships throughout the project's lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead community engagement efforts, including public consultation, to foster positive relationships and address community concerns, while developing and execute a strategic communications plan to support the infrastructure project’s objective and milestones.
- Prepare briefing materials, speeches, and presentations for senior management and other stakeholders and monitor and analyse media coverage, public opinion, and industry trends to inform communication strategies.
- Manage crisis communications and issues resolution, providing swift and appropriate responses to mitigate potential negative impacts on the project and department’s reputation.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a communications and community engagement role, preferably within infrastructure, construction, or government sectors.
- Proven track record of developing and delivering successful communication and engagement strategies and exceptional writing, editing and presentation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and a proven track record of meeting deadlines within allocated timeframes.
- While qualifications are not mandatory, a degree in communications, public relations, journalism or marketing would be highly desirable
