Our NSW Government client is hiring for a highly capable UX/UI Designer to join the organisation. Working within the Policy and Delivery Business Unit this role will be working on a core product that helps out across the wider state, that makes finding information more accessible and assists in residential management. The team is a cross-functional team working on further enhancements.
Role Title: UX/UI Designer
Contract Length: 28/04/2025 to 03/10/2025
Daily Pay: $750 - $850 + Super per day.
Location: Parramatta (2150). Office/WFH Hybrid, 2 days per week in office and 3 days from home.
Role Requirements:
- UI Design & Prototyping: Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs using Figma, ensuring brand consistency, accessibility, intuitiveness, wider NSW Government guidelines and visual appeal.
- Interactive UI Development: Convert design mock-ups into functional, visually engaging web interfaces that enhance user interaction.
- User Experience Enhancement: Optimise performance across desktop, mobile, and tablet devices while conducting thorough usability testing to validate functionality.
- Collaborative Development: Work closely with designers, product managers, and back-end developers to create cohesive, intuitive user experiences.
- Responsive Code Implementation: Build dynamic, mobile-friendly web experiences using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Bootstrap (or similar) to ensure efficiency and scalability.
- Cross-Browser Testing: Ensure a seamless and consistent experience across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and other major browsers through rigorous testing.
- Information Architecture & Accessibility: Collaborate with engineering and product teams to refine site structure and ensure compliance with WCAG standards for accessibility and inclusivity.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Extensive experience in UX/UI within digital environments.
- Experience delivering designs that are not only visually appealing and user friendly but balance custom development and OOTB functionality.
- Highly skilled in HTML, CSS and JavaScript to prepare custom style contents.
- Experienced in the use of Figma.
- Experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA highly desirable.
- Strong experience in the management of, and collaboration with, other experts, technical and non-technical.
- Excellent communication skills, being able to clearly explain and document complex concepts and designs to a variety of audiences.
- Experience working in an Agile setting.
- Flexibility and adaptability, responding quickly when situations and priorities change.
