- $50-$55 per hour inclusive of casual loading

Our client is seeking a Safety and Compliance Officer to provide effective WHS support to a large manufacturing business in Smithfield and contribute to the overall safety and quality standards of the business, it's clients and projects.
The ideal candidate will be proactive in closing safety gaps and demonstrate a high standard of SOP document creation and auditing processes.
- Previous experience as a compliance or HSEQ officer, within manufacturing or production an advantage
- Leadership skills
- Must have strong communication skills both written and verbal
- High degree of organisational skills and the ability to multi-task, learn quickly and be proactive
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or packaging preferred
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure safety targets are being met
- Monitor LTI, MTI and RTW reporting for compliance and performance targets
- Ensure injuries and incidents are fully investigated
- Ensure all incidents are entered accurately into internal systems
- Cor-ordinate WHS related training
- Guide the leadership team through Risk Assessments and Job Hazard Analysis controls
- Develop, manage and review the environmental requirements of the site
- Promote the clients Safety First culture
- Ensure implementation of effective controls for business continuation risks
- Manage and improve business management systems where possible
- Drive and implement improvement activities
- Identify and improve LEAN practices - reduce waste of resources
- Manage and maintain business ISO compliance
- Identify and implement potential improvements to site and administrative practices
- Implement standardised document and reporting formats across the business
Required Skills/Qualification
- SOP writing skills
- ISO qualifications in production
- LEAN principle qualifications
- Return to Work and Injury Management experience - 3 years min
- Strong Communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong IT and Microsoft office experience
- Previous experience as a compliance or HSEQ officer, within manufacturing or production an advantage
- Leadership skills
- High degree of organisational skills and the ability to multi-task, learn quickly and be proactive
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or packaging preferred
