Manager Warehouse – Full Time
City Mission is looking for a dynamic Warehouse Manager to support the Leadership of Supply Chain in the effective operations of the Warehouse and supply of goods to the Launceston City Mission’s (LCM) retail and resale networks of North and Northwest Tasmania. The position requires the employee to develop working relationships with management, peers, and paid and volunteer workers within the organisation.
Primarily the Manager Warehouse will be responsible for: the supervision and support of paid and unpaid workforce within the Warehouse to enable efficient and accurate receiving, sorting, pricing (where directed) and storage of goods as delegated by the Operations Manager in line with the Launceston City Mission (LCM) Retail and Resale strategies. Additionally, the Manager Warehouse is responsible for compliance and WHS requirements within their area and in support of their colleagues throughout the Warehouse.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum 4 years experience in both warehousing and logistics.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate diverse staff.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a diverse team.
- WHS training and/or awareness.
- Ability to complete logbooks, data tally and forms.
- Ability to research second hand product.
- Physical ability to move boxed donations and cages.
- Current first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Medical Assessment is required for all Warehouse, Supply Chain & Circular Economy roles.
- National Police Check is required for all roles.
- Working with Vulnerable People Card is required for all roles.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience or demonstrated capacity to work in an organisation adopting a Christian ethos.
- Experience with MS Office suite especially Excel.
- Experience working with volunteers.
- Experience handling second-hand (donated) goods.
- Experience researching and pricing second – hand (donated) goods.
- Current driver licence and forklift licence. (or willingness to obtain).
