Purpose
The Strength & Conditioning Coach will provide NSW Waratahs with a part-time high-performance resource to deliver the Women’s Sevens Strength & Conditioning program.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage 12-18 athletes and take the lead on the design and delivery of all Strength & Conditioning prescriptions, meeting NSW Waratahs' Women's Sevens performance targets
- Collaborate with the Head Coach and assist in preparing for and managing the state team for competition
- Develop and deliver annual plans including individual player performance plans
- Facilitate player rehabilitation alongside the Head Physiotherapist
- Be available for all training sessions
- Contribute to the ongoing development and review of the state women's program
- Agree to always act with the highest levels of professionalism and integrity and protect intellectual property when representing the NSW Waratahs organisation

- Extremely reliable, on time and thorough
- Availabile to commit to the training and competition requirements
- Confident and effective communication and presentation skills, particularly with secondary aged children and stakeholders
- Ability to contribute effectively to a team and work towards achieving outcomes collaboratively
- Ability to travel locally, domestically and internationally for competition and training purposes
- Desire to progress as a coach within the NSW Waratah coaching pathway
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in developing athletes in a semi-professional, performance-based environment
- Rugby union and/or sevens experience is desired
- Specific technical knowledge with an understanding of best practice technique and coaching trends
- Demonstrated experience liaising with a wide range of people including athletes, management, program coordinators and administrators
Qualification Requirements
- Current ASCA level 2 and above coaching accreditation is essential
Required Dates & Hours
Block 1: Program Introduction, Fundamentals & Maintenance
- 28 April 2025 to 16 June 2025
- 18 sessions over 9 weeks
- Monday and Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Block 2: Next Gen Sevens Preparation & Competition
- 21 July 2025 to 28 September 2025
- 30 training sessions plus 5 competition days over 10 weeks
- Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Block 3: Casslick Cup Skills & Maintenance
- 29 September 2025 to 16 November 2025
- 14 sessions over 7 weeks
- Monday and Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
