Wood is recruiting a Senior Construction Engineer with a Civil background. You will join our Operations business to work with a major player in the Oil & Gas industry on an Onshore brownfields Engineering Service Contract.
This position will be hired on a contractor basis for 12 months with a rotational 2:2 or 3:3 roster, working 6 days/ week and 12-hour day shifts.

Wood’s “Operations” APAC West business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimization, and technical services to the Oil & Gas industry and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region’s most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Southeast Asia.
Scope of Work
- Interfacing with Civil contractor on technical issues and resolution of issues onsite
- Provide site and technical support with oversight during the installation and maintenance of structural systems
- Monitor the progress and performance of the project or scope of work, give input and provide feedback and support where necessary
- Assist in providing feedback to the Lead Construction Engineer and Project Engineering Manager on construction progress budget and schedule
- Provide technical support to the onsite construction teams, projects department and engineering department

Expected:

Suitably qualified in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution, ideally you will have proven Construction experience onsite, supported by 8+ years of relevant design engineering experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
In addition, you will:
- Familiarity with relevant standards and design guidelines to the civil engineering discipline
- Demonstrate a minimum of 3-5 years site engineering experience in construction
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to think critically and adapt to changing project requirements
- Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards and regulations
- Experienced in performing Civil Design including detailed design
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with the client
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize
- Experience in the use of relevant software packages (e.g. Civil3D, 12D)
