Electrician / Sparkie (Maintenance Officer – Electrical)

  • Play a key role in the maintenance and preservation of the Victorian Parliament House built in 1856
  • Ongoing, full-time role
  • Grade 3.2, $84,166 to $90,558 + $11.5% superannuation

The Parliamentary Administration Act 2005 and the Parliamentary Officers (Non-Executive Staff – Victoria) Single Enterprise Agreement will be revised during 2025 and is a nexus agreement to the Victorian Public Sector Enterprise Agreement. It is anticipated that the revised salary range for Grade 3.2 will be to range $86,691 to $93,725.

About the role

The Buildings and Grounds team is located in the Department of Parliamentary Services and is responsible for the maintenance and development of the historic grounds at Parliament House and provision of a comprehensive range of building support services.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Officer (Electrical) will carry out maintenance (including electrical, carpentry as well as general maintenance) within the Parliamentary Precinct as well as providing customer focussed support and services to Members of Parliament, staff and the public.

About you

  • You have experience in delivering high quality construction and maintenance services within a similar environment;
  • You have strong communication skills to deal with a broad customer base and are passionate about delivering high-quality customer service; and
  • You have sufficient knowledge and experience in managing health and safety issues, operating and maintaining all workspaces, machinery, and equipment to ensure safe work practices.
