Our team in the Nepean Antenatal Ward is seeking to engage a Clinical Nurse/Midwife Educator to join their service. Our district's Nursing and Midwifery Workforce aims to provide safe, compassionate, person-centred health care in collaboration with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams. Your role will see you promote a culture of development and inquiry that actively encourages and facilitates clinical learning, evidence based best practice, reflective practice, and ownership of professional development.
The Clinical Nurse/Midwife Educator (CNME) works in consultation with the Nursing/Midwifery Unit Managers (NMUMs) in the identification, plannning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of education and development programs for staff working in the ward/unit/service. The incumbent will ensure the provision of clinical teaching, orientation, skill accreditation, and professional development support for all nursing staff and students. The position is also expected to teach courses appropriate to nursing within facilities across the district.

What you will bring to the role: * Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications, or such education and clinical experience in Child and Family Health nursing deemed appropriate by the employer.
- Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes that align with NSW Health's organisation's CORE values of; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment, when interacting with staff, patients, consumers, and carers.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward/unit level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing workforce, working within appropriate models of care.
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement and the maintenance of a learning environment that values and encourages learning and reflective practice.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation, feedback and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, support and engage people in the clinical setting and work professionally in a multidisciplinary team.
- Evidence of computer literacy and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and record management systems.
- Current valid Drivers Licence (P1 Acceptable) with proven good driving record and a willingness to use for work purposes. This will include driving long distances across the Local Health District.
