CNE looking to take the next step? This Nurse Educator level 2 position is part of the Centre for Rural Education Simulation and Training (CREST) team in Western NSW LHD and is based at the CREST Simulation Centre in Wellington, 30 mins drive from the regional city of Dubbo NSW.
The CREST Simulation Centre is a specialist educational facility which provides a dedicated clinical hospital environment where innovative technologies including high-fidelity and life-like mannequins, virtual reality and augmented reality training programs provide a safe and immersive training experience focused on rural generalism.
You’ll be part of the CREST team of senior educators, clinical nurse educators, virtual educators and innovation and design lead and responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive educational curriculums and programs, including simulation education.
Being based at Wellington Hospital you’ll be made to feel welcome and part of this team, as well as your own team who are collegiate and supportive. You may also to travel across the Western NSW Local Health District providing education services.
On a practical basis, you will be reviewing the current structure of the simulation laboratory and determining structure moving forward, build and grow the usage of the sim lab equipment and education programs in line with the District education plan and network with outside partners who may utilise the facility on a fee for service basis, developing a business model.
You will become he technical expert in the usage of sophisticated manikins and virtual reality simulations, work independently and with your manager to lead and establish new programs and with support from manager, plus you will have the opportunity to participate in district leadership and other education programs.
This role provides comprehensive orientation and you will have extensive opportunities for learning growth and development as part of this innovative service, including being buddied with another senior educator and the support of the entire CREST team.
