A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Environment and Release Manager to support a large-scale, multi-stream transformation program. This is a part-time contract opportunity ideal for someone who thrives in complex, enterprise environments involving critical infrastructure systems.
About the RoleYou will work closely with the Lead Release Manager and various technology teams to coordinate environment readiness and software release activities across both corporate IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments. The role involves planning and managing environments for development, testing, and production-most of which are on-premise, with some cloud-based components.
This position offers flexibility across the working week, with the ability to adjust days depending on program demands.
Key Responsibilities- Support environment and release planning across a multi-stream transformation program
- Coordinate upgrades and software releases across interconnected critical systems
- Work across OT and corporate IT environments to minimise disruption and maintain system integrity
- Liaise with internal teams, external vendors, and SMEs to ensure environment availability and readiness
- Assist with coordination and execution of major system upgrades (e.g. outage and distribution management platforms)
- Maintain alignment across development, test, and production environments
- Strong experience in environment and release management within complex enterprise programs
- Proven ability to manage interconnected systems with downstream dependencies
- Familiarity with enterprise systems such as:
- SAP (especially SAP EAM or Asset Management)
- GIS platforms (e.g. GE Smallworld)
- Operational platforms (e.g. PowerOn Advantage)
- Custom or niche systems supporting physical asset management
- Industry background in utilities or electricity preferred
- Telecommunications or manufacturing experience also considered
- Comfortable working across predominantly on-premise environments with some exposure to cloud platforms (e.g. contact centre tech)
- Ability to work in dynamic, high-change environments across multiple projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
