ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This role is primarily responsible for providing executive and administrative support to the Deputy General Manager, within the context of a fast paced, highly varied, extremely confidential and complex political environment.

The successful applicant will require:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in an administrative support position with particular emphasis on supporting a senior manager or executive level role and dealing with confidential and/or sensitive information
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • High-level computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks, identify priorities, meet deadlines and manage projects efficiently and effectively
  • Previous experience in meeting procedures and processes
  • Ability to handle challenges and utilise problem solving skills
  • Ability and willingness to work flexibly in a team environment
  • Strong organisational and judgement skills, with the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities
  • Excellent diplomacy/public relations skills
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence

About this role:

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • 70 hour fortnight
  • Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO)
  • Located at Council's Merrylands office, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 11 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,714.07 to $1,971.18 per week , plus 11.5% superannuation
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role

What you'll need to have for this role:

  • The right to live and work in Australia
  • Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position, including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
  • Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Council’s Health Monitoring Procedure, as required
  • Provide evidence of your vaccination status as part of the employment screening process, in accordance with Council’s COVID-19 Vaccination Procedure.
