In this role you will provide high quality clinical care to patients out of Cairns Hospital, including pre-conception care, antenatal and postnatal care, and participation in provision of gynaecology services.

About your role:
- Maintain good communications with all areas and disciplines within the health service and with local medical practitioners to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the hospital.
- Contribute to quality patient care by participation in case planning which includes appropriate pre-admission planning, in-hospital care and discharge planning.
- To provide assistance with surgical procedures and outpatient clinics as directed.
- Participate in the provision of an on-call roster or a shift roster to provide services out of hours, at night and on weekends.
- Ensure and review the quality of patient care by participation in clinical audits and quality programs.
- Provide leadership and teaching to the resident medical staff.
- Undertake theoretical and practical training in the particular discipline in which the Principal House Officer is employed.
