About the role
Permanent part time opportunity to work within the multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of culturally safe gynaecology care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women accessing the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital's Women's Business Shared Pathway (WBSP).
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, protocols and history including a comprehensive knowledge of issues and priorities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women's health and wellbeing.
- Coordinate and conduct regular community-based health promotion and prevention sessions relevant to women's health.
- Support access to care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women by developing and monitoring care plans and care coordination, conducting home visits, participating in case management, and working collaboratively with MATSICHS and other relevant community partners to improve coordination of care and the client journey.
