The Role
The Assistant Director Joint Health Command (JHC) Workforce is responsible for the management of the Australian Public Service (APS), Australian Defence Force (ADF) and Reserve workforce across JHC. You will lead a small team and oversee the management of all APS recruitment, APS position management, Average staffing Level (ASL) management/monitoring and ADF position management. Additionally, you will also be responsible to manage and oversee JHC's Reserve workforce including bids, funding and processes.

Joint Health Command (JHC) provides health care to Australian Defence Force (ADF) members and ensures the health preparedness of ADF personnel for operations and deployable elements of JHC for deployment in support of operations.
The JHC Workforce team are responsible for Australian Public Service (APS) recruitment, guidance on Human Resources (HR) policies and the management of the APS and ADF Workforce. The team is comprised of APS and ADF employees all working on different priorities to achieve a common goal.
Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience in workforce management across the Australian Public Service (APS) and Australian Defence Force (ADF), have demonstrated leadership skills, and be flexible and adaptable in order to manage a diverse workload.
This role provides high level workforce guidance and support across the Command (5 Branches) and manages all APS recruitment activities, APS & ADF position management and Reserve management.
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of PMKeyS/MARS (or similar) and high level knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
