The opportunity:
McArthur is seeking an experienced Project Officer, with a background in facilities management and maintenance of Assets. This opportunity will involve liaising with many different stakeholders as you implement facilities management frameworks and strategy, asset maintenance schedules and reports that contribute to operating an efficient and compliant site.
Our client, located on the Eastern shore of the breathtaking Derwent river are seeking a suitable applicant for a fixed term of 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a Building and Facilities asset maintenance schedule and programs suitable to the allocated infrastructure.
- Work closely with key internal stakeholders, drafting and implementing a Facilities Management Framework.
- Ensure that all scheduled and unscheduled works are coordinated, and the associated works meet relevant standards, timeframes and council policies.
- Report on safety and maintenance inspections for building and facilities infrastructure.
- Initiate improvements in maintenance practices, systems and procedures, leading to continuous improvements in reliability, cost, quality, and customer service.
- Manage and supervise capital and ancillary projects where required.
- Prepare accurate estimates for operational budgets, and forward capital works programs where applicable to facilities.
- Oversee the requisition and payment of invoices for goods and services where applicable.
- Participate in the testing and procurement of a new Facilities booking and management system.
- Work closely with procurement on contract administration and management of as it relates to the delivery of buildings and facilities maintenance.
- As required, coordinate the preparation of information for tenders and contribute to tender evaluation for products and services.
- Enable, empower, mentor and coach team members to succeed in their roles, ensuring they feel valued and engaged in their work.
Selection Criteria:
- Experience in leading and managing a small operational team in a multi-skilled environment
- Experience in budgeting and expenditure management
- Experience in procurement procedures and practices
- Thorough knowledge and experience in estimating, budget costing, project administration and management
- High level of knowledge of the application of relevant legislation and standards to the building and facilities environment.
- Previous experience using system TechnologyOne.
- Tertiary degree in a relevant disciple, or associated experience.
