The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Human Resources Consultant to join our team, responsible for providing expert guidance on a variety of human resources, industrial relations and recruitment and employment matters. We have an opportunity within our HR Advisory Services teams.
As a Human Resources Consultant, you will be the first point of contact for leaders and employees across the department, providing exceptional customer service, advice and support via multiple channels including phone, email and digital channels.
You'll collaborate closely with the People, Culture and Capability teams and various business units to provide timely, consistent, and accurate advice on HR systems, recruitment, workforce management, change management, learning and development and workforce strategy, and culture. Addressing and resolving people matters with professionalism and efficiency and ensuring our HR services are effective and compliant.
In addition to your advisory and customer support duties, you'll draft and review important documentation and supporting materials relating to the delivery of key HR services, ensuring accuracy, compliance and alignment with best practice and industrial instruments and legislation.
Day-to-day duties may include: preparing reports, correspondence, responding to queries for advice, maintaining employee records on relevant HR systems, undertaking investigations, working closely with HR Business Partners.

The successful candidate will demonstrate their experience and ability to provide timely HR advice and support on a variety of HR policies, processes, and protocols to leaders and staff – anticipating current and future needs and queries and applying their sound analytical and research skills to evaluate the information and current state of play.
Demonstrated experience in producing written materials such as briefings, correspondence and advice to stakeholders and decision makers and the ability to consistently perform high volumes of work with close attention to accuracy and detail is essential.

Requirements
A relevant Degree and/or post graduate qualification and/or experience working in people support and human resources is desirable.
Special Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to provide a National Police Check (NPC) prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
Tenure of Vacancy
Temporary appointment up to 12 months.
Remuneration
ASO4 - $76,561 to $80,256 pa + superannuation.
We have an immediate vacancy available and are also looking to establish a pool, successful candidates will be placed in a pool for a period of 12 months and may be appointed as opportunities arise, depending on the organisational needs.
