About the role

Permanent full time opportunity to work collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager of Cooinda House to foster clinical governance, operational leadership, standards of practice and a positive culture that promotes lifelong learning, workforce development and research to achieve best practice consumer/person outcomes.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Apply advanced clinical nursing expertise, critical thinking and clinical leadership in the coordination or delivery of high standard of resident centred care.
  • Respond appropriately to, and provide support and direction to manage, sudden alterations in the health status of the residents using advanced nursing assessment and intervention skills.
  • Consistently support the Nurse Unit Manager in monitoring nursing practice standards and the management of human, financial and material resources, and implementation of strategies to ensure high standards of residents centred care and achievement of service outcomes/targets.
  • Support the application and evaluation of contemporary human resource, material, and financial management principles, including the Business Planning Framework and Nurses and Midwives Award and Enterprise Bargaining Agreement provisions.
