Description
A Warehouse Picker plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our Outback Stores warehouse, ensuring the efficient and effective flow of product throughout the national store and warehouse network. Primary responsibilities included the requirement to pick, pack, and prepare products for shipping or storage. This role ensures that orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and on time in accordance with Outback Stores operational standards.
Key Accountabilities
Warehouse:
- Accurately picking products orders, in accordance with to order specifications and preparing them for shipment.
- Supporting the coordination of weekly orders from warehouse to Outback Stores sites, maintaining accurate documentation and tracking through various systems;
- Coordinate the packing of items into boxes or containers in an efficient manner to ensure safe delivery in accordance with Outback Stores process and procedures.
- Inventory Management: Keeping track of inventory levels and reporting discrepancies or low stock levels.
- Ensuring that the picked items are correct and undamaged before shipping.
- Utilise operational equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to coordinate product movements for warehouse operations.
- Support the unloading and loading of transport vehicles inline with the Outback Stores Traffic Management Plan.
- Track delivery schedules to ensure stock is shipped and received as planned in good condition.
- Actively participate in and contribute to ongoing review and development of policies, procedures and operational strategies;
Compliance
- Complete all tasks in line with Outback Stores Policies and Procedures;
- Assist in the review of policies, procedures, documentation and forms.
Skills And Experiences
Desired Qualifications
- Hold (or able to obtain) Working with Children Check and National Police Certificate;
- Current Forklift operations licence
- Current unrestricted driver’s license.
Expertise
- Previous experience in a warehouse setting is preferred but not required.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail to prevent errors in orders.
- Good verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing retail environment;
- Previous experience in dealing with Indigenous people (highly regarded but not essential).
