This pivotal role involves overseeing underground coal mining operations within Centennial's Western Operations. Based in Lithgow, this positions requires coverage across three seperate underground mines, Airly, Clarence, and Springvale. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, a strong commitment to safety, and a proven track record in achieving operational excellence and production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and management for underground coal mining operations across the three sites.
- Ensure rigorous compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mining professionals, fostering a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Formulate and implement strategies to meet and exceed production targets and operational goals.
- Uphold high standards of environmental management and sustainability practices.
- Drive production and maintenance efficiency through cost-effective processes.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and industry best practices.
- Ensure strong financial management of operations.
- Oversee the construction and development of new underground mining projects, including longwall operations.
- Manage all aspects of project safety, productivity, cost management, and recruitment.
- Develop robust systems for inspections and regulatory compliance.
- Implement and manage strategic plans for continuous improvement in mining operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- NSW Mine Manager Certificate of Competency / Mutual Recognition.
- NSW Mine Manager Practising Certificate.
- Extensive and demonstrable experience in managing underground coal mines in NSW.
- In-depth knowledge of the regulatory requirements imposed on the NSW coal mining industry, including the Mining Act 1992 and the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act 2013.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and influencing capabilities.
