People Who Care is a not for profit organisation with over 44 years of service. We partner to provide support to older people, those with a disability or people who are facing a social crisis.
About the role:
As a Service Coordinator, you will play a vital role in facilitating meaningful social connections for older people by coordinating volunteer visits to individuals living in residential aged care facilities or receiving home care services. You will work closely with volunteers, aged care providers, and clients to ensure the successful delivery of this important community program.
Three Days - 22.8 hours per week (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday) – $43.08 per hour
Based at our Guildford office.
Role Specific Requirements:
- Undertake day to day administration and facilitation of our Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme consistent with the guidelines.
- Report on all metrics related to ACVVS program including the recruitment, engagement, and support requirements of volunteers.
- Liaise with the aged care facilities to determine needs of clients.
- Ensure the regular evaluations of client needs, and the accurate maintenance of client service records.
- Ensure the regular training, supervision and support of volunteers.
- Ensure the provision and maintenance of safe working conditions for all staff members (employees and volunteers).
- Represent the ACVVS service to government, community agencies and the wider community.
Qualification and Experience:
Essential
- Certificate IV, diploma or higher in aged care, community services or related fields.
- Understanding and knowledge of administrative functions and office practices.
- Proven computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to collect and analyse data and present information in a meaningful manner.
- Ability to exercise initiative and discretion.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with individuals from a range of social, financial and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to cope with changes in work demands, to think outside the box and problem solve.
- Australian work rights / appropriate visa.
- Current National Police Clearance (not older than 6 months).
- Current Western Australian driver’s licence.
Desirable
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Dementia training.
- Experience with volunteering.
- Knowledge of Alchemy SMS software.
