About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Physical Security Coordinator to join the Property Security team within our Governance and Corporate Services division. This role can be based anywhere within Essential Energy’s operational footprint.
Reporting to the Physical Security Manager, as the Physical Security Coordinator you will manage the implementation of security policies and procedures, ensuring the safety of people, information, and infrastructure. This role includes overseeing security operations, managing security technologies, and ensuring the effectiveness of security management systems. The coordinator will be responsible for investigating incidents, recommending improvements to security controls, and managing physical security items such as access passes and keys. You will collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure compliance with security standards and help audit and analyse data to align with the company’s strategic objectives.
About You
You have proven experience in a security related role within a large organisation, with a strong understanding of security systems, policies, and regulations. Your skills include investigation, auditing, and data management, with the ability to provide clear reports and implement necessary changes. You are comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders, managing security contractors, and ensuring compliance with procedures. You bring excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills to the table, along with strong proficiency in Microsoft applications and business systems. You are also prepared to provide 24/7 operational support as required.
Required Qualifications
• Diploma of Security Risk Management or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications
• Understanding of Australian Government Protective Security Framework Policy
• Demonstrated knowledge of security software systems such as access control systems, security surveillance systems and security asset systems
• Current Australia driver licence
• Ability to provide 24 x 7 operational support and assistance as required
Desired
• White card certification
• Class II NSW Security licence, or ability to obtain
