VML's Customer Experience (CX) Practice is where human-centred design meets business transformation. We partner with clients to reimagine and elevate the experiences they offer across products, services and platforms. Working alongside Experience Design, Strategy, Technology and Data teams, our Delivery craft is core to how we bring these ideas to life. We combine structure with creativity, rigour with flexibility, and help our clients confidently deliver change, whether they're just beginning their transformation journey or scaling existing capabilities
ROLE SUMMARY
As Project Manager within the CX Practice, you'll support and lead project delivery across a range of clients and industries. You're someone who thrives in the details, energises teams, and builds trust through clear communication and steady coordination.
This is a mid-weight role - ideal for someone with 2-4 years of project management experience, looking to deepen their craft while making tangible impact. You'll be embedded in a team that values human-centred design, is fuelled by purpose, and brings humble swagger to everything we do.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project & Portfolio Delivery
- Manage multiple projects and/or clients simultaneously, with clear prioritisation and oversight.
- Plan and deliver work using the right methodology - agile, hybrid or traditional - based on client maturity and context.
- Lead core delivery activities including timeline planning, resource coordination, scope tracking and budget oversight.
- Facilitate key ceremonies and checkpoints (e.g. stand-ups, retros, WIPS) adapted to suit project and client work.
- Track burn rates, risks, scope changes and delivery metrics, escalating with clarity and calm when needed.
Client Engagement & Ways of Working
- Build strong day-to-day relationships with client stakeholders, helping them navigate delivery with confidence.
- Introduce agile ways of working to clients unfamiliar with them, guiding them through new processes in an accessible way.
- Ensure work remains aligned with both business goals and user needs across each engagement.
- Creation of Statements of Work, estimates and project documentation with input from cross-functional teams.
Team Coordination & Enablement
- Keep cross disciplinary teams (Experience, Strategy, Experience Design , and Technology) moving forward in sync.
- Create and maintain a positive team culture where clarity, inclusion and collaboration are championed.
- Actively remove blockers and support individuals to do their best work.
- Collaborate with the wider team including Client Lead, CX Lead, Senior PM's and Delivery Leads to continuously improve delivery practises.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Communications, Technology or a related field are beneficial, but not essential.
Experience
- 2-4 years of experience in a project coordination or project management role, preferably in a digital, design or CX context.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects or clients in parallel.
- Experience delivering Agile or hybrid environments.
- Exposure to customer experience, service design or digital product development projects.
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Trello, SmartSheet, Miro etc.
- Certifications (e.g. Certified Scrum Master, PMI-ACP) are a bonus but, but not required.
