About the Role

As a Technical Design Support Specialist , you'll be part of CSR's central Technical Solutions team, delivering expert advice and technical solutions across CSR brands. This is a hands-on design service role, bridging the gap between cutting-edge product innovation and real-world application. You'll liaise with internal teams, and external industry professionals such as builders, architects and certifiers to support CSR systems and products while ensuring compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC).

In this critical role you will;

  • Analyse customer project technical issues and provide NCC compliant technical solutions within the framework of CSR's Technical Literature. Develop documentation to support the solution.
  • Develop and design solutions to meet customers technical needs.
  • Manage & respond to technical queries across CSR products & building systems, typically related to fire, structural, acoustic & thermal performance, ensuring compliance to the NCC.
  • Develop and deliver project specific support for Major Projects, including site support, custom proposals and bespoke detailing.
  • Key point of contact for escalated complexity product and system technical support and guidance for internal and external customers.
  • Priority technical support for Sales Teams and key external customers, which may involve site visits and meetings in conjunction with Account Managers.
  • Support and contribute to internal CSR projects that involve new building products and solutions development.

What you bring to the role

  • Relevant Building Designer / Architectural / Certification qualifications is preferred along with extensive light-weight construction experience.
  • In depth knowledge of the NCC and relevant Australian Standards with a detailed understanding of the local compliance landscape.
  • Knowledge of building products & system applications.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability, with a passion to find the best solution for the customer.
  • Strong customer focus with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM Dynamics 365.
